Profile Summary:

Linh is a Registered Psychotherapist with the CRPO. Linh has the honour to serve and support linguistically and culturally diverse through her work at Community Family Services of Ontario (CFSO). She firmly advocates for integrating culture into her work as she is aware of how culture can influence people’s perceptions of themselves and others and their way of communicating and expressing their emotions.

Linh believes that as clients move through life, it’s almost inevitable that there will be times when they find themselves feeling stuck or overwhelmed, it’s part of the human experience. Having difficulty saying no, being overly critical, perfectionistic or doubting oneself are commonly shared experiences of many clients she works with. The psychological distress it may cause can impact every aspect of daily life and relationship with self and others. While the anxiety might hold them back or the depression leaves them feeling disconnected, Linh believes that the courage it takes for a client to seek support and pursue counselling is a profound strength. Thus, she is honoured to join their journey and be a part of their circle of care. Outside of professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and learning new languages in her spare time.

Approach to Therapy:

Linh’s experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy has been helpful in facilitating a safe, accepting space where her clients are encouraged to explore their inner strengths and resources and discover the meaning of their unique life story. Linh’s approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, and relational, which means she is always thinking about you in relationships, even if you are working with her individually. In part, what informs Linh’s therapeutic practice is the understanding that, as human beings, we rarely thrive in isolation and often learn about the world and ourselves through relationships.
